Fuel prices are back on the upswing in New Westminster, but most stations are still selling for less than $1.80 per litre.
Today, July 12, the city's least expensive gas is being sold for $1.76 per litre at the Centex and GOMarket on Ewen Avenue, according to GasBuddy.com (see list below).
That, however, is an increase of four cents from $1.72 per litre last Friday, July 5.
Compared to the rest of Metro Vancouver, the New West low is the fourth cheapest in the region. The Fraser Highway Chevron in Aldergrove and 64 Avenue Shell in Surrey are offering $1.72 per litre.
The biggest local jump recorded was five cents from $1.74 to $1.79 per litre at the Brunette Avenue Chevron.
New West's average gas price currently sits at $1.79 per litre — three cents more from $1.76 per litre.
There is one B.C. gas station offering fuel for less than $1.60 per litre.
GasBuddy.com lists Cranbrook's Centex stop on Mission Road with a price of $1.59 per litre.
As well, as of this publication, there are six outlets in Chilliwack — 85 km east of New Westminster on Highway 1 — selling gas for $1.60 and $1.62 per litre.
