New Westminster gas prices have recently endured a roller-coaster ride for local motorists.
The final turn has led to two outlets offering less than $1.80 per litre ahead of the B.C. Day long weekend, according to GasBuddy.com, and one of them recorded the lone weekly decrease.
The Sixth Street Chevron dropped two cents to $1.78 per litre, as of this publication, Aug. 2, to become the cheapest in the city (see list below).
The number, however, is a three-cent uptick from $1.75 per litre, which was the least expensive price on the New West market last Thursday, July 25.
Centex and Fetch Panda on Ewen Avenue boasted that price, but it has since gone up to $1.79 per litre.
New West's most expensive gas is currently $1.85 per litre at the 12th Street Petro-Canada. This has brought the local average price up a cent to $1.83 per litre.
Metro Vancouver's cheapest price for gas sits at $1.69 per litre at the Fraser Highway Canco in Surrey — less than 25 km east of New West — the only station at less than $1.70 per litre in the region.
The most affordable fuel in B.C. is $1.62 per litre at Costco in Kamloops.
