It appears gas prices in New Westminster have returned to the same plateau as they were last month.
The most affordable fuel in the city is currently $1.72 per litre at the Centex and Fetch Panda on Ewen Avenue, according to GasBuddy.com (see list below).
The good news for New West motorists: that number is the second cheapest price for gas in Metro Vancouver, as of this publication, Oct. 16.
And, it's only two cents more than the $1.70 per litre posted in the middle of September.
Three other local fuel outlets are offering less than $1.80 per litre. The average price is also below that threshold at $1.79 per litre.
Meanwhile, if the belt needs tightening, New West commuters will have to visit Richmond to find the least expensive gas in the region.
GasBuddy.com latest report shows the Williams Road Petro-Canada has posted a price of $1.69 per litre.
B.C.'s cheapest fuel stop is 1,200 km north in Fort St. John: $1.51 per litre at the Alaska Road UFA.
The closest affordable price within driving distance of New West is $1.56 per litre at the Yale Road Centex in Chilliwack — nearly 85 km east on the Trans Canada Highway.
