You can buy your own little slice of Fraser River living for less than half a million dollars — but you'll have to add your own float home on top.
A water lot in the Queensgate Marina complex in Queensborough is on offer for $499,000, according to Zealty.ca.
That price tag will get you an end unit, Lot 15, at 700 South Dyke Rd. in New Westminster. The 49-by-46 lot can provide room for a float home and a boat, depending on the size of the home.
You can either build your own custom float home or acquire the one the seller has moored in Seattle, according to the listing; the latter option would require a retrofit of sprinklers, plus a tow. The cost of the house is not specified, though interested buyers can ask for pictures and a video.
The lot has been on the market since May 23, according to its listing.
If the idea of living on the river appeals to you but you don't want to source your own float home, two homes in the same neighbourhood are currently listed for sale:
- 1-800 South Dyke Rd.: For $889,000, you can buy this two-bedroom, two-bathroom, 1,400-square foot float home built in 1977. It's been on the market since March 20.
- 6-750 South Dyke Rd.: For $950,000, you can buy this two-bedroom, three-bathroom, 2,000-square-foot home built in 2013. It's been on the market since April 6.
