Letter: I'll take New West's Uptown traffic noises over downtown construction

I'd rather be unable to hear my TV than have my walls shake, this letter writer proclaims.

Re: Letter: New West noise 'so loud you can't even hear your own TV' (July 13, 2024)

I would like to propose a trade of summer noises to Uptown residents from those of us downtown, especially the ones sandwiched between the construction of Douglas College and the new building on 800-block of Agnes Street.

Can we trade your loud motorcycles for obnoxious dump trucks? Some hot rods for scorching excavators? How about some blaring music for thunderous pile driving?

While I can hear my TV, sometimes the walls are shaking. I am not sure if it will upright much longer.

Oh well.

On the bright side, we will have some new neighbours to help revitalize the downtown area, and my little boy loves watching the trucks so much we don't need a TV anyways.
