Magic, movies and music are all on stage at Massey Theatre this season.

Coming on up Saturday, Feb. 11, it's the magic duo of Trevor and Lorena Watters. The two have been performing for more than a decade - being featured in corporate events, on cruise ships, at festivals and fairs and on TV - and have won more than 20 international awards for comedy magic.

A press release promises a show "packed with cutting-edge illusions, amazing sleight-of-hand effects and lots of audience participation."

Tickets are $20.

On Monday, Feb. 27, it's the film buffs' turn to be entertained, with the next instalment of the Last Mondays at the Movies series at 7: 30 p.m.

This month, the Arts Council of New Westminster film series features The Way.

The movie stars Martin Sheen as Tom, an American doctor who travels to France to collect the remains of his adult son (played by Emilio Estevez), who was killed in the Pyrenees in a storm while walking the Camino de Santiago, a pilgrimage route also known as the Way of Saint James.

Rather than return home, Tom decides to embark on the pilgrimage to honour his son.

Tickets are $9, available at the door. On Thursday, March 15, country music fans have their turn as Sara-Jeanne Hosie and David James appear in a tribute to Patsy Cline and Johnny Cash.

Hosie, the star of A Closer Walk with Patsy Cline, has received many glowing reviews for her rendition of Cline, which includes performances of classics such as Faded Love, Sweet Dreams and I Fall to Pieces.

David James, with Big River, is one of the favourite Johnny Cash tribute acts on the continent, playing the hits spanning five decades of Cash's career.

Tickets for the evening are $44.

Musical theatre fans will want to save some dates in April now, as Royal City Musical Theatre brings Hello, Dolly! to the stage from April 12 to 28.

The production stars Colleen Winton and is directed by Valerie Easton, with musical direction by James Bryson.

The play, which follows the adventures of matchmaker Dolly Gallagher Levi, includes such familiar Broadway classics as Put On Your Sunday Clothes, Before the Parade Passes By and, of course, the title song itself.

Tickets are $33/$24 for previews, with regular shows available for $29 to $43 for adults, $26 to $41 for seniors, and $19 to $29 for students and children.

The Massey Theatre is at 735 Eighth Ave. For tickets to any event at the theatre, call the box office 604-521-5050 or buy online through the website, www.massey theatre.com.
