New West police are investigating a hit-and-run collision that sent a woman to hospital with injuries.

The New Westminster Police Department is seeking public assistance as investigators work to locate the driver of a vehicle involved in a hit and run that occurred around 11:20 a.m. on Tuesday, March 25. That’s when police responded to Boyd and Gifford streets for a report of hit-and-run collision.

“When officers arrived, an injured adult female driver was located,” said a NWPD news release. “The vehicle that struck her was found parked further down Boyd Street near Boundary Road. The driver of that vehicle had fled the scene.”

According to the police department, the woman was transported to a hospital, while officers canvassed for witnesses and surveyed the scene for additional evidence. The woman had non-life threatening injuries.

“Our officers continue to investigate the circumstances of the collision and are interested in speaking with anyone who may have witnessed the event. At this point, we believe the suspect vehicle is a 2001 grey Toyota Tacoma,” said Sgt. Andrew Leaver, the NWPD’s media relations officer.

Anyone with information is asked to call the NWPD at 604-525-5411.
