The New Westminster Record has been honoured as one of the nation’s top community newspapers.
The Record earned three awards in its circulation category at the just-announced 2018 Canadian Community Newspaper Awards.
It earned second overall for Best All-Round Newspaper in its circulation class, just behind the Delta Optimist and ahead of the Victoria News in an all-B.C. final.
The Record earned first place for Best Front Page, ahead of the Delta Optimist and Okotoks Western Wheel from Alberta. For Best Editorial Page, the Record again earned a second-place finish, behind the Okotoks Western Wheel and ahead of the Delta Optimist.
The CCNAs celebrate the best in community publishing from across the country and are judged by a panel of industry experts in a range of categories covering editorial, photography and multimedia work. This year’s awards honoured work published in 2017.
