Heads up on deck, if you take the Q to Q Ferry as part of your New Westminster commute.
In an update, the city said the inter-community vessels' fall schedule is now in effect, with transports leaving every 30 minutes on extended hours to meet the seasonal demand.
As of Tuesday, Sept. 3, the 28-foot boats will sail across the Fraser River from the Komagata Maru Docks as follows:
Weekdays
- Leaving Quayside at 7 a.m., then every 30 minutes until 7:30 p.m.
- Leaving Queensborough at 7:15 a.m., then every 30 minutes until 7:45 p.m.
Weekends and STAT holidays
- Leaving Quayside at 10 a.m., then every 30 minutes until 7:30 p.m.
- 8:30 p.m. on Saturdays
- Leaving Queensborough at 10:15 a.m., then every 30 minutes until 7:45 p.m.
- 8:45 p.m. on Saturdays
The change lines up with TransLink's recent adjustment to its new schedule for fall 2024.
This includes adding buses to four major routes through New West as, for example, students return to school and other riders require more transit this time of year.
