Who needs a car to have fun, anyway? Downtown New Westminster once again turned into a "pedestrian paradise" for the Car Free Day festival.
The second annual event was held Saturday (July 29) on Columbia Street, between Fourth and Eighth, with three stages of music, artisan market vendors, a DJ dance battle and family activities — plus, of course, the ever-popular food trucks.
Also on hand was a display of vintage and current buses by TransLink.
Photographer Jennifer Gauthier braved the crowds to catch the action. Scroll through the gallery above to see some highlights of the 2023 festival.
