The New Westminster Salmonbellies launched their playoff run in style at home on Wednesday night, scoring an 11-9 victory over the Victoria Shamrocks.
Mitch Jones led the way with a three-goal game, adding four assists en route to the ’Bellies win.
Also on the board were Will Malcom with two goals and three assists, Keegan Bal with one goal and four assists, and Noah Armitage and Kevin Crowley with one goal and two assists apiece.
Haiden Dickson added a goal and an assist, while Brandon Goodwin and Justin Salt scored the other two goals, and Jason Jones and Patrick Shoemay kicked in assists.

Game 2 in the series is set for Friday, Aug. 4 in Victoria, with the Salmonbellies returning home to Queen’s Park Arena for Game 3 next Wednesday, Aug. 9.
