One person's trash is another person's treasure, and that may be the case on May 12 when the Queen's Park garage sale in support of Canuck Place takes place from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
The 17th annual event - originally started and sponsored by local real estate agent Frank Wright - has been sponsored since last year by Dave Vallee.
Organizers say there are already 40 homes participating, and they're expecting that number to grow to more than 50. Participants are encouraged to donate part of the proceeds of their sale to Canuck Place, with an overall target of $2,000.
This fun community event will feature some food concessions and bargains galore.
According to one past participant who wrote a letter in support of the sale, "you can imagine how touched we were when we saw the sign go up for the Queen's Park garage sale in support of Canuck Place. In fact, it brought me to tears. - It was just further evidence of the community spirit that so engenders this entire area."
