Rain, thunder and lightning are in the forecast for New Westminster as summer turns to fall.
The Weatherhood local forecast for New West calls for some cooler weather to start the week, with a high of 19 C and some rainfall predicted for today (Monday, Sept. 18).
Tomorrow could be cooler, with a projected high of just 15 C, and thunder and lightning may also come our way as rainfall moves in during the evening and overnight hours into Wednesday.
But Mother Nature hasn't quite turned off summer yet. By Thursday, we could be welcoming back sunny skies and highs of 24 C.

Meanwhile, there's continued good news on the air quality front. Though much of British Columbia is currently under air quality advisories — with Environment Canada warning of poor air in the Okanagan, Cariboo and Peace River regions — the Metro Vancouver area remains clear.
