Royal Columbian Hospital Foundation has released the names of its 2019/20 Redevelopment Campaign Cabinet that will help oversee the massive $1.35 billion project.
Cameron Belsher, senior partner and national head of mergers and acquisitions at McCarthy Tetrault LLP, takes over as chair of the volunteer group. Belsher is also vice-chair of the Foundation’s volunteer Board of Directors.
According to a report by the City of New Westminster, the redevelopment will be in three phases:
Phase 1, which is currently under construction, provides infrastructure, prepares the site for subsequent phases of construction and includes a new mental health and substance use wellness centre.
Phase 2 will include a new 350-bed acute care tower with a new and expanded emergency department.
Phase 3 will include renovations in the existing health care centre and Columbia Tower to improve care delivery on the site.
