1 Get celebrating Christmas at the annual Hyack Santa Claus Parade of Lights on Saturday, Dec. 3. The parade starts at 4 p.m. and features bands, floats and family fun. The route is along Columbia Street, between Fourth and Eighth streets. There will be also be a tree-lighting ceremony at 5 p.m. in Hyack Square. For info, call 604-522-6894.

2 Get crooning at the Songs of Sinatra dinner show, presented by Valiant Entertainment on Saturday, Dec. 3. Dinner is at 7 p.m., and the show is at 9 p.m. at the Columbia Theatre, 530 Columbia St. Tickets are $59. For info, call 604-436-1133.

3 Get into the holiday spirit with the Vivo Children's Choir annual Christmas concert on Sunday, Dec. 4 at 4 p.m. The show is at the Holy Trinity Cathedral, 514 Carnarvon St. Tickets are available at the door: $10 for adults, $8 for students and seniors. For more info, call 604-916-5321.

4 Get shopping for winter produce at the Royal City Farmers Market on Saturday, Dec. 3 from 10 a.m to 2 p.m. at 810 Quayside Dr. Keep an eye out for roving carollers from the Amabilis Singers. There are many things in season for December: brussels sprouts, cabbage, winter squash, apples and pears. There will also be a kids' craft area and a photo booth with Father Christmas.

5 Get help with financial literacy on Friday, Dec. 2 at the New Westminster Public Library. Mosaic is hosting a life-skills workshop at from 1 to 3 p.m. The programs are in English with translation in Mandarin and Cantonese. For info, call Mosaic at 604-522-3722 ext. 155.
