DQ's 23rd annual Miracle Treat Day is returning to New Westminster tomorrow, Aug. 8, as the restaurant chain is looking to raise thousands of dollars for the BC Children's Hospital Foundation (BCHF).

The goal this year to match or go beyond the more than $280,000 collected in 2023 from Blizzard net proceeds across the province — part of more than $2 million raised across Canada.

The money is earmarked for pediatric resources and areas of greatest need "to tackle the most complex health challenges facing kids across B.C. and the Yukon," said BCHF spokesperson Rita Thodos in a news release.

"By treating yourself to something sweet on Aug. 8," she added, "you have the power to make a mighty difference in the lives of patients and their families."

New West's DQ Grill and Chill location at 708 6th Ave. is one of 123 across B.C. and Yukon participating in the 2024 day-long initiative on Thursday.

Since 1984, more than $52 million was donated from Blizzard purchases for Children’s Miracle Network member hospitals in Canada.
