As rivalries go, the Coquitlam Adanacs and New Westminster Salmonbellies of the B.C. Junior A Lacrosse League have something going.

And its been going for a long time.

The teams are meeting for a third straight league final, with provincial bragging rights and a ticket to the Minto Cup national championship on the line.

The intensity has only been increased by the nature of local boxla, where young players learn to revile their nearest opponent at an early age and then, on occasion, cross the line and find they are now on the opposing sides.

There are no divided loyalties, however. Once you put on that jersey, you quickly figure out who your friends are.

Its a rivalry that continues to grow.
