Letter: Columbia Square redevelopment should go back to the drawing board

It could be a great addition — but the traffic? Not so much, this writer says.

Editor:

While I think much of the redevelopment of Columbia Square could be a great addition to the area, I seriously question the concept of a transit-free zone.

I would guess that the current planned construction in the area will add at least 3,500 parking spaces in the immediate area. The planned 45-storey tower at the traffic circle will require some fancy footwork to get your car out of your parking lot. Yes, sadly, if you buy a place in a 45-storey tower, you will get at least one parking stall.

All this potential traffic onto 10th Street will be a disaster. We don't all ride e-bikes. Back to the drawing board.
