Rewind back to the height of the COVID-19 pandemic, when virtually every interaction was virtual.

The computer camera turns on and in an instant, your attention and confidence shift away from the matter at hand to the elephant in the room.

“Do my teeth really look like that?”

It’s a scenario that Chris Lee’s patients at New Westminster City Dentist experienced time and again.

In many cases, the solution came by way of Invisalign–a practical and more subtle alternative to traditional braces. Invisalign trays are barely visible, can straighten teeth and improve overall oral health within one year.

“We use our teeth a lot–roughly 1,000 times each meal, times three each day,” Lee says. “ When teeth are aligned so they function correctly and patients are able to clean and maintain their teeth better, they're more likely to have less issues over the long term.”

Achieve your best smile

To recognize the substantive changes Invisalign can make to a person’s smile and mojo, Lee’s team is holding an Invisalign Day promotional event on March 28 chalked full of perks: a complimentary consultation with no obligation; a free electric toothbrush and $500 off from the team’s already competitive pricing.

Lee notes that up to 90% of tooth misalignment, including crowding, spacing or overbite issues can be corrected through the use of Invisalign. His patients range in age from teenagers to those in their 70s, though Lee suggests early intervention is best.

“A large majority of our population could benefit from having straighter teeth and better bites, not just for esthetic reasons, but for just overall oral health,” Lee says. “We see patients from age zero to over 100 years old. We see the long-term consequences of misaligned teeth.”

Though each treatment regime varies, the process always begins with a consultation that includes 3D preliminary scans showing the current state of the patient’s teeth and AI simulation on how Invisalign will improve them. The length of the treatment as well as the cost will be discussed on the same day.

Trusted Invisalign expertise

The Invisalign trays are then shipped within three to four weeks before patients are fitted and instructed on how the treatment will work. Lee says the trays must stay on a patient’s teeth between 20 and 22 hours a day and only be taken out for meals and to brush and floss.

Once the program is underway, intermittent appointments are scheduled every three months and Lee notes that progress is already seen by a patient’s first check-up.

“A lot of people have persistent issues with their teeth without realizing the impact of it because they don't feel any pain at the time,” Lee says. “But we are seeing elderly patients who have lost their teeth or had to get a lot of dental work over the years because they didn’t correct the issue when they were younger.”

Lee has helped more than 1000 patients over the course of his career which has earned him a platinum provider status with Invisalign. It’s a recognition that ensures reliability, trust and expertise.

“A lot of patients mention that they’re able to confidently smile, talk and even chew again after using Invisalign,” Lee says. “It makes a huge difference and we are happy to be a part of their journey.”
