Another season of jazz music is about to launch at the Anvil Centre.
Piva Presents: Jazz at the Anvil opens on Tuesday, Sept. 26 with performance by Rumba Calzada.
The Juno-nominated group has been a favourite with Vancouver's Latin jazz and salsa enthusiasts for more than 25 years, offering up Latin, salsa and Afro-Cuban rhythms.
Originally formed in 1991 by Boying Geronimo, the group is now headed by his son, Raphael Geronimo. The band has recorded four albums and has received airplay and media praise around the globe, with tours and sold-out shows across Canada, the U.S., Malaysia and Philippines.
The band has an all-new album planned for 2023, its website says.
Local audiences will be able to enjoy their show at the Anvil Theatre on Sept. 26 at 7 p.m. There will also be a chance to win a $100 gift card to PIVA Modern Italian Restaurant and a chance to win two tickets to the next Jazz at the Anvil concert.
The concert series raises funds for charity.
